My name is Jakub. I started 2 years ago as See Containers driver at Post-Kogeko. In that period I was working a lot for Container Terminals. I did internal jobs for the biggest “player on this market”. Some days when other departments needed more people for help I was also driving with Frigo Trailers. Then I was loading and unloading goods in The Netherlands or I was helping with a distribution job for one of the well-known supermarket brands in here.
I had the feeling that Post-Kogeko could offer me different types of job – which was good for me because I don’t like doing the same trips every day.
In the less busy periods I was working more often at night. Then I was shunting containers between terminals in the biggest harbour in Europe – port of Rotterdam. Some days I was also loading a full trailer of bread in one of the bakeries and delivered it to other bakeries all over The Netherlands. It was nice to see how people are working together in The Netherlands. Especially at night, when most people are sleeping and we were still in the run.
After a few months at Post-Kogeko I realized that there were more and more drivers from abroad and in this case they decided to offer me a position as a coordinator. My new position includes also responsibility for the planning of containers at the night. By that time I was still working at night, helping with different kind of problems. Sometimes I was also driving a little, just to not stay every night in front of my computer.
A few months passed like this and they offered me a position as Fruit Containers planner. I decided to start with this job and I followed a training for this job. I have experienced different situations already and nowadays I am responsible for preparing the complete planning for the next day at the Sea Containers department. I am working with really nice people at the Post-Kogeko office. I feel now that because of atmosphere in here, and the opportunities they offered me for my personal development, I will stay with them for a long long time.
You can meet me every day at the Post-Kogeko office. If You like to speak with me, you are welcome!
